The Brownstone in Paterson, NJ was the perfect setting for Peyton and AJ’s wedding day. Their story started at the gym while AJ was studying medicine out of state, and when it was time for him to move back home, Peyton followed him to New Jersey.

Throughout the whole day, it was so clear how loved these two are by their family and friends. Their Catholic ceremony was beautiful, their portraits at The Brownstone felt warm and elegant, and the venue gave us so many gorgeous indoor spaces to use. They ended the night with a fun reception, a packed dance floor, and Peyton’s stunning second bridal look.

The Details, Getting Ready, & First Looks

Peyton and AJ’s wedding day started with beautiful details throughout The Brownstone in Paterson, NJ. The beauty of this venue really allowed me to get fun with the details, from Peyton’s heels photographed on vintage paintings to the chandeliers, and I loved the soft window lighting. AJ also had custom “A | P” cufflinks which felt so personal and classic.

Peyton got ready in one of The Brownstone’s wood-paneled rooms, which felt so warm and elegant. She was truly stunning in her fitted gown which had a simple, timeless look with a long train. AJ wore a classic dark colored suit and black tie.

Before the ceremony, Peyton shared a sweet first look with her bridesmaids, followed by a private first look with AJ. When AJ turned around you could see the surprise all over his face, it was the sweetest! And The Brownstone made the perfect backdrop.

The Brownstone in Paterson, NJ was the perfect setting for Peyton and AJ’s portraits and bridal party photos. It was cold on their wedding day, and Peyton wanted to stay inside, which ended up being perfect because this venue has so many beautiful indoor spaces to use!

Between the gold elevator doors, fireplace rooms, rich wood walls, chandeliers, and classic details throughout the building, everything felt warm and elegant. Peyton and AJ’s portraits had such a timeless feel, and their bridal party photos still felt full of energy without needing to step outside. This is one of the reasons I love The Brownstone so much. It gives couples so many beautiful photo options in one place, no matter the weather!

A Beautiful Catholic Wedding Ceremony

Peyton and AJ had their ceremony at a nearby church before heading back to The Brownstone in Paterson, NJ for the rest of their wedding day. Even though they had already shared a first look earlier in the day, AJ still got emotional watching Peyton walk down the aisle. Their ceremony was beautiful, and afterward, they walked out of the church together while their family and friends cheered around them, then got into their limo to head back to The Brownstone as newlyweds!

Cocktail Hour & Reception at The Brownstone in Peterson, NJ

Peyton and AJ’s reception at The Brownstone in Paterson, NJ was gorgeous! The room felt warm with candlelit tables, white florals, gold chairs, large windows, and greenery around the chandeliers.

After mingling with guests during cocktail hour, everyone flowed right into the reception. Peyton and AJ shared their first dance, followed by emotional dances with family members. Later in the night, Peyton changed into a stunning second look, which was perfect for dancing and a few fun portraits around the venue.

DJ Jeff Scott Gould kept the energy going all night, and the dance floor stayed full. Overall, Peyton and AJ had such a beautiful wedding at The Brownstone. They are such a beautiful couple, and it was truly an honor to be their New Jersey wedding photographer.
