If you’re looking for a New Jersey wedding venue with beautiful gardens, character, and everything you need in one place, The English Manor in Ocean, New Jersey is such a gorgeous option. This private estate sits just two miles from Asbury Park and reopened in 2026 after a major renovation.
If you’re considering The English Manor for your wedding, I’m sharing everything you’ll want to know before booking, including the spaces, wedding cost, what’s included, photo locations, and frequently asked questions, so keep reading!
Last updated September 2026: Venue details and 2027–2028 menu information were current at the time of publishing. Thank you to The English Manor team for sharing their insight and helping make this guide as accurate and helpful as possible for couples planning their wedding.

One thing to know if you’ve been looking through older English Manor wedding photos is that the venue has changed quite a bit. The estate underwent a major renovation and officially reopened in 2026 with updated interiors, a redesigned bridal suite, a new cocktail space, and refreshed garden areas.
The property has a much longer history, dating back to the early 1900s. The renovation kept that romantic, manor-style feel while giving couples a more updated experience throughout the wedding day.
One of the biggest changes was the complete redesign of both getting-ready suites. Before the renovation, the bridal suite was located in what is now the groom’s suite, while the groom’s space was much smaller. Today, both sides of the wedding party have their own private, newly renovated spaces to get ready and relax before the ceremony.
According to The English Manor team, the cocktail hour room is actually one of the spaces that surprises couples most when they tour. The pocket doors open to showcase a much larger space than many couples expect, with plenty of room for guests to mingle, grab a drink, and enjoy the food stations before the reception begins.

One of the things I love about The English Manor is how much of your wedding day can happen right on the property. From getting ready in the morning to your ceremony, cocktail hour, portraits, and reception, each part of the day flows naturally into the next.
When guests arrive, they’ll find the coat room and guest restrooms before moving into the lobby. The lobby gives everyone a comfortable place to mingle before the ceremony, and there’s also a fireplace mantel where the venue encourages it’s couples to bring personal photos or meaningful details from their relationship.
Connected to the lobby is the welcome bar, with access to the patio just outside. The patio can be used during both cocktail hour and the reception, giving guests another space to step outside and enjoy the property.

The bridal suite is spacious, bright, and minimal, with high ceilings, a grand chandelier, uplighting, a kitchenette, and dedicated hair and makeup stations. There’s also space to hang bridesmaids’ dresses, a private bathroom, and a separate lounge area with booth-style seating and tables for the bridal party. Right outside is a private patio where you can enjoy breakfast, drinks, or even a champagne pop before the day gets going.
Having photographed a wedding here myself, one thing I especially loved was the natural light in the bridal suite. There are plenty of windows, which made it such a beautiful space for getting-ready photos and those more intimate moments before the ceremony.

The groom’s suite is located upstairs and includes its own private bathroom, kitchenette, Bluetooth speakers, shuffleboard, a poker table, and an arcade game. Complimentary food and drinks are also provided, and the wedding party can typically arrive up to four hours before the ceremony.
With the grooms suite being right off the stairs, we can step out and use the natural lighting from the big windows, which is exactly what we did during Samara and Connors wedding featured throughout this gallery.
As a wedding photographer, I love that both groups get ready on site. This makes the morning feel much more relaxed. There’s less travel, fewer transitions, and more room in the timeline for details, candid moments, and a first look before the ceremony.

The ceremony space is reached by crossing the bridge, which creates such a beautiful entrance into the gardens. It’s one of those details that makes the transition into the ceremony feel a little more special and gives guests a nice first look at the space before they take their seats. The gardens themselves are surrounded by landscaped greenery, flowers, mature trees, and the venue’s wrought-iron gazebo.

New Jersey weather isn’t always predictable, so having an indoor ceremony option is a big plus. The English Manor can move ceremonies inside when needed, which means you have a built-in backup plan without having to change venues or completely rethink the day.
If you’re planning a colder-season wedding or the forecast looks questionable, I always recommend talking with the venue ahead of time about when they make the final call for an indoor ceremony.
After the ceremony, guests can move into The English Manor’s newly renovated cocktail room. The experience includes 16 passed hors d’oeuvres along with a variety of interactive food stations, so cocktail hour feels like a full part of the celebration rather than just a quick transition into dinner. Guests can also use the patio off the welcome bar, which gives them an indoor-outdoor option depending on the weather.
And the cocktail hour bar is one photo spot you might not immediately think of. The English Manor team specifically mentioned this as an overlooked location for fun, different wedding portraits. I love that it gives us another indoor option and a completely different look from the gardens and more traditional portrait spots. I loved how much natural light comes into the cocktail hour space. It photographed beautifully during the wedding I photographed here and gave us another bright, clean backdrop during the day.

The Grand Ballroom is where the reception comes to life. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring in natural light earlier in the evening, while marble flooring gives the space a more polished feel.
Uplighting and a state-of-the-art sound system are also included, so couples don’t have to bring in those elements separately. Once the sun goes down, the room shifts easily from dinner into the party.
I really loved the ballroom. It was really nice to work in from a photographers perspective. The ceiling gave me a great surface for bouncing flash during the reception, which helped keep the photos bright and natural once the sun went down.

One of the best things about The English Manor is how much variety you can get without leaving the property. The gardens, manor exterior, bridge, and indoor spaces all give us different backdrops throughout the day.
After photographing a wedding at The English Manor, two of my favorite places for portraits were the gardens and the area outside the property around sunset. The gardens give us plenty of room to work with both couples and larger groups, while still letting me change angles and create different perspectives without spending a ton of time moving from place to place.
One of my favorites and an easy spot for portraits is The Gardens. It has the gorgeous greenery, flowers, pathways, and tucked-away little corners. There’s plenty of options for a first look, wedding party photos, family portraits, and photos of the two of you.
I also love that we can move between different areas without taking a big chunk of time out of your wedding day. There’s enough open space for a large wedding party or family group, but also plenty of smaller areas for couple portraits.

The bridge and surrounding water features give us a completely different look from the more manicured garden areas. They are especially pretty for portraits when you want something a little softer and more romantic.

The exterior of The English Manor gives us a more classic backdrop and adds some architecture into your gallery. I love mixing these images in with the garden portraits so everything doesn’t feel like it was taken in the same spot.

The renovated interiors are also such a beautiful option for portraits. I especially love the staircase with its black iron railing, warm wood details, white walls, and statement lighting. It gives us a completely different look from the gardens and feels a little more editorial while still fitting the romantic feel of the venue.
It’s also a great indoor option if the weather isn’t cooperating or if you just want more variety in your gallery. We can use the staircase, upper landing, and surrounding interior spaces for portraits without needing to leave the property.

The newly renovated bridal suite also has direct access to the gardens, which makes it easy to step outside for a few portraits without walking through the entire venue.
That is perfect during the getting-ready portion of the day when we want beautiful photos without adding extra travel or transitions to the timeline.

The English Manor is only about two miles from Asbury Park Beach and Boardwalk. If the beach or boardwalk is special to you, we can always talk about whether it makes sense to build a stop there into your wedding timeline.
That said, there are already so many photo options at The English Manor that you definitely don’t need to leave the venue to create a gallery with plenty of variety.
Both The English Manor team and I have the same biggest piece of advice: give yourself enough time to actually enjoy the property! There are so many different spaces here, from the gardens and interiors to the bar and outdoor areas, and you don’t want your timeline to feel so packed that you rush past all of them.
When I photographed here, I loved being able to use the gardens, interiors, and outdoor areas for completely different looks. Building in a little extra portrait time gives us the freedom to explore those spaces while still keeping the day relaxed.
If you’re not sure how much time to plan for photos, you can also take a look at my wedding timeline example that leaves room for real moments.

We reached out to The English Manor directly about current wedding pricing, and their team shared that rates vary depending on the season, day of the week, guest count, and date selected. Because of those variables, they recommend contacting the venue for pricing specific to your wedding.
They did share that they still have select 2027 dates available from March through October and are currently offering a Spring Deal for select March through July 2027 weddings. They’re also booking weddings for 2028.
The English Manor team also confirmed that their standard wedding package includes quite a bit beyond the reception space itself, including:
When comparing venues, this is why I’d look at more than just a starting number. Knowing what’s already included can make a big difference in your overall wedding budget.
*Because pricing and availability can change, I recommend reaching out to The English Manor directly for current options based on your date and plans.
The English Manor also offers an All Day Ceremony Experience for couples who want to spend more of their wedding day at the venue. It includes early access to the bridal suite, breakfast and lunch, drinks, a dedicated bridal attendant, access to the groom’s suite, and three hours of pre-ceremony access to the estate and grounds for photos.
As a wedding photographer, I know that extra time can be really valuable if you want a first look and most of your portraits finished before the ceremony. It gives us more breathing room without needing to rush through the parts of your day that actually matter.

The English Manor’s 2027–2028 wedding menu gives couples a ton of variety without having to coordinate outside catering. Cocktail hour can include everything from pasta and antipasto to seafood, sushi, American grill favorites, and other interactive stations. Friday and Saturday packages also include the Coastal Catch with raw bar, hot seafood, and sushi selections.
For dinner, guests can choose from steak, fish, chicken, and vegetarian options, with orders taken tableside. The chef can also accommodate special dietary needs. Dessert includes a custom tiered wedding cake, mini ice cream cones, coffee, and tableside espresso. A premium open bar, wine service, and champagne toast are also included in the reception.
Couples who want to add something extra at the end of the night can also choose from upgrades like Viennese dessert tables, a donut exit station, or late-night food! You can see the full menu below.
One thing I can appreciate about The English Manor is that excess food from events is donated to The Center in Asbury Park, a local nonprofit that supports people living with HIV/AIDS and their caregivers.
It’s a small detail in the scope of an entire wedding day, but I love seeing a venue find a meaningful way to give back to its local community!
